Nichrome 80/20

Cr20Ni80, also known as Nichrome 80/20 or alloy 2.4869, is a premium nickel-chromium resistance wire consisting of 20-23% chromium with nickel as the balance element and iron content controlled below 1%. It is the most widely adopted heating alloy wire for high-temperature industrial and civilian thermal equipment, manufactured via precise cold drawing and hydrogen annealing to deliver bright, uniform surface and excellent ductility.
This alloy boasts core outstanding physical properties. Its room-temperature resistivity hits 1.09 μΩ·m, generating stable Joule heat efficiently with low power fluctuation. The protective chromium oxide film formed on its surface provides remarkable oxidation resistance, supporting a maximum continuous operating temperature up to 1200°C and a melting point of 1400°C. It features a low temperature coefficient of resistance, stable austenite microstructure during long-term thermal cycles, and superior creep resistance at high heat, avoiding deformation or brittle fracture after thousands of heating cycles. Besides, the wire shows great cold workability and weldability for easy winding and assembly of heating components.

1. Raw material preparation:
Firstly, the raw materials for Incoloy alloy, including powders or chunks of alloying elements, need to be prepared. These materials usually consist of alloys of metals such as nickel, iron, chromium, etc.
2. Alloy Melting: The pre-weighed raw materials are placed into a furnace for high-temperature melting. Under controlled conditions of alloy composition and melting temperature, the various alloying elements are thoroughly mixed to form a homogeneous melt.
